Can we welcome others to St. Louis?

Catholic Charities Southside Center (5880 Christy, 63116) has recently seen a spike in the number of calls from families that are moving to St. Louis, often with nothing but the clothes on their back. They have no place to live, no beds, nor furniture, and very little clothing or food. Many are still searching for work and simply trying to keep their families safe. This is an incredibly vulnerable population that may be getting even more vulnerable.

Would you or your parish be willing to be part of a "Welcoming Committee" for these people? This would be an opportunity to embody the value of solidarity and commit to making our community an open and affirming one for immigrant families. Whether it's being a welcoming presence or if it's collecting food, clothing, air mattresses, etc, the need is great. For details, email Courtney Berg or call 314.773.6100.
