Good Shepherd Children & Family Services

Connecting children with families and keeping families connected

Jesus Christ set forth the example of a good shepherd, one who watches over, cares for and guides those in need. It is the work of Good Shepherd Children & Family Services to keep the children in our care safe, to help them heal, to provide them with the skills for self care and connect them with those who will provide support throughout their lives. Good Shepherd Children & Family Services focus on Foster Care, Residential Care, Adoption, Expectant Parent Support, and Youth/Family Support and Mentoring.

Good Shepherd Children & Family Services was created through the merger of five Catholic Charities Federation children’s agencies: Catholic Services for Children & Youth, Father Dunne’s Newsboys’ Home, Marian Hall, Villa Maria, and St. Joseph’s Home and Family Support Services.

The goal of the merger was to achieve greater efficiency and position the organization to have a greater impact in St. Louis City, St. Louis County and surrounding areas. Central to this effort was the construction and renovation of a site in University City that includes new residential facilities designed to serve 12 girls and 12 boys, ages 12 to 21, and allow the children in our care to thrive.
