LAMP also provides services in other areas such as: mental health, legal and courts, schools and social services. We can also translate documents for healthcare and medical facilities, legal firms, academic arenas, corporations, insurance companies and worker's compensation.
OUR MISSIONLanguage Access Metro Project (LAMP) decreases linguistic and cultural barriers for immigrants and refugees seeking health care and support services in the St. Louis Metropolitan area.
ServicesINTERPRETATIONOur agency staffs 130 interpreters who are available 24/7 for on-site or telephone interpretation. Our interpreters are not only trained to be clear language communicators, but can also act as culture brokers, when applicable. Our goal is to facilitate understanding between English speaking providers and non-English speaking clients. Everything that is said is interpreted, without omitting meaning or words. We reduce miscommunication while building confidence in the quality of services provided. LAMP interpreters cover a vast array of medical appointments at clinics, hospitals, and physicians' offices. Some of these services include but are not limited to: adult and pediatric ER visits, labor & delivery, women's health (obstetrics & gynecology), adult medicine, pediatrics, NICU & PACU, surgeries, PT, OT and speech therapy, dental exams, home visits and social services. If you need an interpreter, call us for a free quote at 1-866-948-7133. LAMP is a key collaborator of CANA (Care Access for New Americans); created by the Saint Louis Mental Health Board and funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health. LAMP assisted in developing the curriculum for the first college level course in Saint Louis, which is designed for the field of mental health interpreting. This course is given by the Saint Louis Community College and LAMP interpreters attend these classes. If you need an interpreter, call us for a free quote at 1-866-948-7133. LAMP is often requested to interpret at parent/teacher conferences, meetings with parents, student evaluations and MAP testing. We help schools communicate with their non-English speaking families through conference calls as well as translating letters being sent home with the students. If you need an interpreter, call us for a free quote at 1-866-948-7133. LAMP adheres to the Code of Professional Responsibility for Interpreters as directed by the Office of State Courts Administrator. We provide interpreters for initial client-attorney interviews, depositions, court proceedings and hearings, worker's compensation claims, insurance companies, and all matters related to law.
