Catholic Charities Community Services
Catholic Charities Community Services is comprised of nine programs that have been serving the St. Louis community for a combined total of over 150 years. Despite its wide variety of programs, the driving force and fundamental belief of this agency is clear—they do what they do because Christ mandates them to do so: “I assure you as often as you did it for one of the least of my brothers, you did it for me” (Matthew 25:40).

Adult Day
Our Adult Day Program provides assistance to families caring for senior adults who cannot be left alone during the day, but who do not yet need 24-hour nursing home care. The goals of Adult Day Program include: maintaining and/or improving functional levels; providing stimulation and motivation; enhancing self image; building community; preventing premature nursing home placement; providing respite for caregivers.
Foster Grandparents
As a Foster Grandparent, senior volunteers serve as a role model, a mentor, and a friend. Serving at one of thousands of local organizations-including faith-based groups, Head Start Centers, schools, and other youth facilities-senior volunteers help children learn to read, provide one-on-one tutoring, and guide children at a critical time in their lives. Put simply, the volunteer gives the kind of comfort and love that sets a child on the path toward a successful future.
Homemaker
The Homemaker Program provides trained and qualified workers to perform personal care and housekeeping duties in the persons home regardless of race, creed, or income level. The goal of the program is to assist senior adults so they can remain in their homes longer. Services are generally available Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but can be flexible according to an individual's needs
