CATHOLIC CHARITES OF ST. LOUIS TO HELP HURRICANE HARVEY VICTIMS

Collecting donations to help more than 450,000 victims in Houston and southeast Texas

 

St. Louis, MO – Catholic Charities of St. Louis is collecting donations to help the victims impacted by the catastrophic flooding and widespread damage from Hurricane Harvey in Houston and southeast Texas.

“Catholic Charities of St. Louis is ready and willing to help those affected to rebuild their lives in Houston and southeast Texas. Donations for victims will go directly to Catholic relief efforts via Catholic Charites of St. Louis,” said Theresa Ruzicka, President of Catholic Charities of St. Louis.

Since Hurricane Harvey made landfall on Friday evening, it has brought widespread devastation and catastrophic flooding to southeast Texas. Tragically, at least 18 people have lost their lives and several people are injured. FEMA anticipates 30,000 residents to be placed in temporary shelters and 450,000 victims to seek some sort of disaster assistance.

“I know I speak for every person in the Archdiocese of St. Louis when I say how deeply saddened I am by the death and massive devastation our brothers and sisters in the South are experiencing in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. I ask you to please join your prayer to mine for our neighbors who must now rebuild their lives,” said the Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis.

Donations should be made out to Catholic Charities of St. Louis and mailed to P.O. Box 952393    St. Louis, MO. 63195-2393. Please note Hurricane Harvey 2017 in the memo line.

At this time, monetary donations are what is most needed to fund immediate disaster relief efforts through Catholic Charities organizations. We are not accepting non-monetary donations at this time.
