Catholic Charities St. Louis officially opened its new central office location at 4445 Lindell Boulevard during a blessing and open house September 29, 2016.
The Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis, led the blessing which opened with songs performed by the Rosati-Kain High School choir. “This building holds great significance, serving as the first Chancery of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and commissioned by Archbishop Joseph Cardinal Ritter in November 1951,” said Archbishop Carlson.
“Ultimately this new building will help us in our mission of serving those in need, especially the poor and the vulnerable, work to improve social conditions for all, and call others in the Church and community to do the same.” Theresa Ruzicka, President Catholic Charities St. Louis, also said during her remarks to more than one hundred attendees, “This newly renovated space offers new opportunities to better serve the community and our eight federated agencies.”
Cheryl Archibald, Chair of the Board of Directors remarked, “As we bless this new space, we are reminded that our service to the community is based on need not creed. We serve everyone because our faith calls us to do so.”
Last year Catholic Charities St. Louis served more than 148,000 people in the 11 counties of the Archdiocese through the work of our eight federated agencies. This makes Catholic Charities St. Louis one of the largest social services organizations in Missouri.
