Legal Aid

Catholic Charities can accompany and advocate for you

Attention: CLAM does not service Criminal Law.

Navigating legal proceedings is daunting, but Catholic Charities can accompany and advocate for you.

Through our Catholic Legal Assistance Ministry (CLAM), Catholic Charities has provided legal aid to people who are under-resourced for more than 30 years. We annually serve more than 1,300 individuals and provide legal aid in over 1,500 cases in the areas of immigration law, veterans advocacy, family and guardianship law, and housing cases. Catholic Charities’ LAMP program (Language. Access. Multicultural. People.) offers around-the-clock in-person and virtual interpreting and translation services – in courtrooms, hospitals, and other critical settings – that empower people and build relationships by bridging cultural and linguistic divides. LAMP interpreters translate in more than 48 different languages, including American Sign Language (ASL).
