Our Vision for Workforce Development
Catholic Charities recognizes that access to steady employment helps lift individuals and families from poverty, and that workforce development efforts promote the common good as well as human flourishing - because work can be an opportunity to reflect the image of our Creator. We also know that many jobs in the St. Louis region go unfilled because of a lack of qualified candidates.
Job Readiness Training
Helping those we serve achieve their short and long-term goals: how to create a resume, write a cover letter and prepare for a job interview; technology training, including keyboarding as well as email and internet use; and an introduction to specialized employment opportunities based on each person’s interests and skills.
Pathways to Progress
An innovative, community-based family strengthening program that uses an individualized, holistic approach. We connect clients to resources in order to build on their strengths, develop new skills, and address barriers to financial stability. The program’s goal is to strengthen our community by creating a pathway for families to live safe, productive and sustainable lives; to educate and empower families to make effective decisions that positively impact their future; and to advocate for systemic and progressive change.
