Workforce Development
Our Vision for Workforce Development
Catholic Charities recognizes that access to steady employment helps lift individuals and families from poverty, and that workforce development efforts promote the common good as well as human flourishing — because work can be an opportunity to reflect the image of our Creator. We also know that many jobs in the St. Louis region go unfilled because of a lack of qualified candidates.
Job Readiness Training
Helping those we serve achieve their short and long-term goals: how to create a resume, write a cover letter and prepare for a job interview; technology training, including keyboarding as well as email and internet use; and an introduction to specialized employment opportunities based on each person’s interests and skills.
Trades Program
Catholic Charities, in partnership with the AFL-CIO's Building Union Diversity (BUD) STL and Missouri Apprentice Ready (MAR), is proud to support the Construction Apprentice Ready Program. This initiative, part of the Missouri Works Initiative, aims to introduce, train, and connect individuals to high-paying, rewarding careers in the construction trades.
