A Letter From the Archbishop
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
As we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, we give thanks for the many ways God has guided and sustained our Church through generations of faith, service, and love. This milestone invites us not only to reflect on our rich history but also to renew our commitment to living out the Gospel in our communities today.
In a special way, I offer my continued gratitude for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, whose work so beautifully embodies the Church’s mission to bring the healing, help, and hope of Jesus Christ to those most in need. Across all eleven counties of our Archdiocese, Catholic Charities remains a compassionate and steady presence, walking alongside individuals and families facing poverty, homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.
This past year, we have witnessed that commitment in a profound way through the response to the devastating tornadoes that impacted our region. Catholic Charities has been on the ground, offering immediate relief, and remains present for the long journey of recovery. Their dedication reflects a deep understanding that true healing takes time, and that every person deserves to live with dignity, stability, and hope.
We also see this mission lived out through ongoing efforts to expand access to affordable housing, including the important work of the Caritas developments across our Archdiocese. These initiatives are more than buildings; they are communities where individuals and families can find safety, belonging, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
As we mark two centuries of faith in action, Catholic Charities continues to be a visible sign of Christ’s love at work in our world. Their ministries remind us that charity is not simply an act, but a way of life rooted in our call as disciples. I remain deeply grateful for the faithful support of so many who make this work possible through their prayers, their time, and their generosity. Together, we are called to continue this mission, ensuring that the most vulnerable among us are not only served, but truly seen, valued, and accompanied.

Since 1912, the ministries of Catholic Charities have lived our mission to bring the healing, help, and hope of Jesus Christ to those in need with a compassionate, caring presence.
The shared vision of each of our ministries is that Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis will be a premier leader in community renewal and a visible catalyst for social outreach by connecting with people, parishes, and ministries committed to a meaningful communion of care to those in need across every square mile of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
A Letter From the President
Dear Friends,
Every year, I am humbled by the compassion, generosity, and faith that make the work of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis possible. As I reflect on 2025, I am reminded that even in the most difficult moments, our community comes together to care for one another with extraordinary love and determination.
This year, Catholic Charities served more than 122,000 individuals across the region through our ministries and programs. Behind that number are families finding stability, children receiving support, older adults maintaining their independence, individuals overcoming barriers to employment, and neighbors experiencing hope during some of life’s greatest challenges.
One of the defining moments of 2025 was the devastating tornado that impacted our community. In the aftermath of the storm, Catholic Charities responded quickly to help individuals and families facing loss, uncertainty, and displacement. Through emergency assistance, housing support, case management, counseling, and access to critical resources, we stood alongside our neighbors as they began the difficult journey of recovery.
We also recognized that rebuilding extends far beyond repairing homes and replacing possessions. The emotional and mental health impacts of trauma can linger long after the immediate crisis has passed. Through our counseling and mental health services, we provided support to those coping with grief, anxiety, and the overwhelming challenges that often follow a disaster. Caring for the whole person remains central to our mission.
None of this work would be possible without the faithful support of our donors, volunteers, partners, and advocates. Your generosity strengthens the social service ministry of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and allows us to respond when needs arise, whether in times of crisis or through the daily work of serving our most vulnerable neighbors.
Because of you, Catholic Charities continues to be a visible sign of Christ’s love in our community. Together, we are building stronger families, healthier communities, and brighter futures for thousands of people each year.

Dear friends,
With gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility, I complete my term on the Board, and as Chair of the Board of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. It is truly an honor to witness, up close, the compassion and dedication of our ministry, co-workers, volunteers, and supporters who bring the healing, help, and hope of Jesus Christ to individuals and families across our community.
As we celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the 114th year of Catholic Charities, I am grateful for the legacy we have inherited and the responsibility we share to carry it forward. For generations, this work has been rooted in faith and guided by a simple but profound call to serve others with dignity, compassion, and love.
Over this past year, I have been especially moved by the way Catholic Charities has responded to the devastating tornadoes in our region. From the earliest moments of crisis through the ongoing work of recovery, this ministry has remained present not just in the immediate response, but in the long journey that follows. That commitment, to stay until individuals and families can rebuild their lives with dignity, is a powerful reflection of who we are.
I have also seen the importance of strengthening our connection to parishes, where so many needs are first recognized. Under the leadership of Archbishop Rozanski, our President and CEO, Jared Bryson, and our various boards, Catholic Charities is building a more connected and responsive network of care across the Archdiocese, one that reflects the heart of our Church and the strength of our shared mission.
I am deeply grateful to all who make this work possible. Your prayers, your generosity, and your commitment are what sustain this mission each day. It is a privilege to serve alongside my fellow Board members and all those who are part of Catholic Charities.
