For many years, Catholic Charities of St. Louis has been a leader within the Archdiocese of St. Louis in helping people recover after they have experienced the effects of a disaster on their daily lives. We do this through a process called Natural Disaster Case Management, where we help people address the disaster-related unmet needs that still exist as they work to recover.
In natural disaster case management we are able to address:
- Immediate needs and long-term needs
- Natural Disaster related Home Repair
- Addressing needs of lost furniture or home items
- Connecting to resources in the community
- Making referrals to address issues that were present before a disaster
- Family Needs
- There are a few areas that wwe are unable to help.
- Repairs to homes with deferred maintenance issues
- First and last month’s rent
- Mortgage payments
- Utility assistance
