Senior Care

Catholic Charities’ programs for older adults from Cardinal Ritter.

Our programs for older adults foster independence, social growth, and mental and physical well-being.

Through our Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, we provide care through a continuum of residential services of the highest quality, offering the place and space for seniors to fully live their best lives among engaging peers and skilled professionals who care. Living our mission to bring the healing, help, and hope of Jesus Christ to those in need with a compassionate, caring presence, we love and serve each person as made in the image of God. In addition to our residential options, our case management and social service outreach is designed to keep older adults in their homes safely – helping ensure those we are privileged to serve have the resources they need to live with comfort and dignity.

Independent Living

If you are ready to enjoy your retirement surrounded by active people like yourself, our independent living community is just the place. We have created the perfect atmosphere for making new friends and cultivating close-knit relationships. Each day is another nonstop adventure for those seeking excitement or a supportive neighborhood for others who crave companionship. Either way, our center for independent living is both fun and fulfilling.

Assisted Living

Our core services embody independence while focusing on your loved one’s individual empowerment to live their best lives. Here in our communities, we treat older adults just like you would any member of your own family: with unconditional care, support, and kindness. We stress the importance of independent living – highlighting consistent advocacy for self-determination – combined with an attentive dose of respectful assistance. After all, your family is a part of our family.

Memory Care

Our ultimate goal is to give family caregivers peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in a secure environment with the best possible quality of life. An estimated 6.2 million Americans age 65 and older are currently living with Alzheimer’s dementia, a number that could grow to 13.8 million by 2060 unless a medical breakthrough is developed to prevent, slow, or cure the disease.

Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation

Our skilled nursing facility checks all the boxes when providing hands-on health care for your loved ones while delivering peace of mind to you.

Social Services Program

Our senior adults receive a wide array of services – including counseling, referrals, and emergency support – to ensure the most comprehensive care possible. Our Social Services department provides programs and services to help our community’s older adults. Supportive programs include counseling, emergency assistance, rehabilitative therapy, and our exclusive Foster Grandparent senior employment. Help is here for those who need relief.

Affordable Senior Apartments

A sense of community and the privacy you desire are all available at our 10 senior apartment locations throughout the St. Louis region. Efficiency units and one-bedroom apartments, complete with total access to our on-site programs and services, are the perfect solution to an active older adult’s lifestyle. Freedom coupled with all the extras never felt so good!

Foster Grandparent Program

Created in 1965, this volunteer program provides paid work opportunities to older adults who serve as both mentors and friends to children. Our Foster Grandparent volunteers serve as role models, mentors, and friends to children with special or exceptional needs. This federally funded program was established more than 50 years ago to provide the kind of loving relationship a child needs to achieve a successful future.
